LANCASTER MASSACHUSETTS - June 17 2007 - The Boston Blast U14 Boys were crowned State Champions after defeating the F.C. Greater Boston Bolts 2 - 0 in the finals of the Boys U14 Massachusetts State Cup played today at the Citizens Bank Fields at Progin Park. The team went undefeated in the round robin tournament and has posted a 10-0-0 record in tournament play since the end of the MAPLE season. Felix De Bona scored both goals in the final match and was named Tournament M.V.P.
Head Coach Luis Cabral said he's pleased with the overall performance of the team and feels that the team is peaking at the right time. After a brief celebration, Coach Cabral reminded the team that there's still work to be done as the boys prepare to travel to Portland, ME for the Regional Championships. The team will represent Massachusetts in the Region1 National Championship Tournament to be held there from June 28-July 3.
